In 1993 a group of local individuals and agencies worked together to apply to the Health Canada Community Action Program for Children for funding to open a Family Resource Centre. The headquarters for this group was located on Main Street.

In 1998 funding was received to purchase the house Parents' Place now calls home. We then completed extensive renovations to make the center more warm and cozy.

in 2003 funding was received from the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services for the Child Care Information and Support Program which now funds various Parents' Place programs.
